Day Eight at Shakespeare in Paradise

October 12, 2009

Today is the final day of the first annual Shakespeare In Paradise theatre festival.

There is a double bill scheduled at The Dundas for 3:00p.m. The productions are Caribbean Voices and Music of The Bahamas.

EVERY seat for this event has been either booked or sold. If you are still trying to get tickets, the only possible way might be to arrive at the Box Office, and at the front of the line, before 2:00p.m. when unclaimed reservations will be sold. We cannot guarantee that there will be any unclaimed reservations but that would be your only chance to get in.

We appreciate all of the people who supported us and attended any of the productions in this festival. Some people saw just one production while others saw all six that played in Nassau. We were hoping that this festival would give our local theatre a shot in the arm and we feel that we may have achieved that goal.

We are already thinking about next year but we will take a short time off to rest and then start to meet on what the festival will look like next year. We have set aside October 4th thru 11th of 2010 for the second annual Shakespeare In Paradise theatre festival so SAVE THOSE DATES!

We could not have produced this festival without the help of our sponsors, our international guest artists and all of the talented Bahamian actors and singers who appeared in our locally produced shows.

We had a number of volunteers who helped in many areas and we appreciate all of the time they put in to be sure that everything ran smoothly.

We would like to thank all of our venue partners who helped to make this a real Nassau festival.

We look forward to seeing you next year and for those of you did not see any of the productions in this year’s festival, ask around and you will soon find out what you missed. Don’t fret, however, we will be back next year with the same high standard of work and we hope to seen you then.

Wow! Oct. 4th thru 11th Shakespeare 2010, please keep me posted and can my kids audition for that production now? ;-) Thanks again for making them apart of this year’s Music of The Bahamas production!
